A report that provides to product leaders use-case insights on Enterprise Augmented Reality
OverIT has been recognized in Gartner®’s research Emerging Technologies: Top Use Cases for Enterprise Augmented Reality, authored by Tuong Nguyen, published on September 10th 2020. The report states: “Augmented reality is transforming how frontline employees work with physical goods, products and assets. Product leaders in the AR ecosystem should prioritize use cases that deliver on empowering remote workforces and assembly efficiency, and that extend AR value with combinatorial solutions”.
OverIT has been named as an example AR enterprise software vendor. The report states “the most prevalent augmented reality (AR) use cases involve the inspection of capital equipment. AR-assisted assembly use cases deliver high-value efficiency and effectiveness improvements.AR experiences using head-mounted displays (HMDs) are promising — primarily for regular-use tasks versus infrequent tasks thus limiting broader adoption.”
“By 2026, 75% of capital-equipment-intensive industries will use AR as a key component for cost reduction/avoidance among frontline workers” says the report. On the basis of this prediction, we will keep on identifying new opportunities within those sectors with a significant number of frontline workers, improving our tools thus to empower them for tasks such as remote support and inspections, assembly, maintenance and repair, with the goal of reducing even more troubleshooting and resource’s training time, as well as to increase productivity, effectiveness and safety, thanks to the combination of AR and AI.
